Baseball Recap: Heritage's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Heritage dropped their record down to 12-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. If they were looking for revenge after losing 8-0 to the Flying Jets when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Beau Stoppenhagen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-8 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Landri Linder, who went 2-for-7 with two RBI.

As for Adams Central, they now have a winning record of 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 12, 2024.

On Adams Central's side, Jami Roach tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Roach has posted since back in April.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ethan Funk, who got on base in four of his eight plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Joey Everett was another key player, going 2-for-8 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Heritage didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-6 defeat against Columbia City on the 10th. As for Adams Central, they have also already played their next match, an 8-3 loss against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers on the 12th.
