Green Run was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 15-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hedgesville Eagles. On the bright side, the ten- run effort marked the Stallions' highest-scoring match to date.
Tameron Campbell was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Campbell was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Those home runs were his first of the season.
Campbell wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nick Logsdon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another was CJ Jones, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Green Run's record now sits at 0-9. As for Hedgesville, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Run will head out to challenge Norfolk Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hedgesville, they will venture away from home to square off against Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
