Softball Game Preview: Living Water Homeschool Marlins vs. Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles

The Living Water Homeschool Marlins will challenge the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Living Water Homeschool can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Monday. They fell just short of Indianapolis Bishop Chatard by a score of 10-9.

Makenzie Hicks made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Halle Carpenter, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Guerin Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Lapel on Thursday and fell 2-1. The Golden Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Brooklyn Fritsche was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Everything went Living Water Homeschool's way against Guerin Catholic when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Living Water Homeschool made off with a 15-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Living Water Homeschool since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
