Basketball Recap: Marvin Ridge's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Marvin Ridge won the last time they faced Weddington and things went their way on Friday too. The Marvin Ridge Mavericks enjoyed a cozy 66-52 win over the Weddington Warriors. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Warriors are ranked 112th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Weddington still got an impressive performance from Natalie Poole, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Sitren, who went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points.
