Basketball Recap: Zion Christian Academy Takes a Loss

If Zion Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 100-58 takedown of Boyd Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The matchup between the Zion Christian Academy Eagles and the Franklin Road Christian Minutemen didn't end well, with the Zion Christian Academy Eagles falling 95-76. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Minutemen earlier this season, when they won 83-70.

Pierre DeShields was nothing short of spectacular for Franklin Road Christian: he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 18 boards. DeShields has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Branch, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 assists.

Zion Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Franklin Road Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-12.

Zion Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Franklin Road Christian, they will challenge Lancaster Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lancaster Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Franklin Road Christian likes a good challenge.
