Football Recap: Fernandina Beach Takes Down Bell in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fernandina Beach had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bell Bulldogs 48-21. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 27 points or more this season.

Fernandina Beach's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ian Miller, who threw for 131 yards and three touchdowns. Miller's passing game has become a key predictor of the Pirates' success: the team is 5-2 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Ethan Watts was in the mix too, providing Fernandina Beach with two scores.

Despite the loss, Bell still got an impressive performance from Landin Williams, who rushed for 91 yards and one TD.

With the win, Fernandina Beach broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-5. As for Bell, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.

Coming up, Fernandina Beach will challenge Paxon School For Advanced Studies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Golden Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. Bell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
