Softball Recap: Madison Central Victorious

While Madison Central put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Pendleton County. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 1-0. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by just one run.

The result came thanks to Kate Drury's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mollie Neeley was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

Madison Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matches.

Madison Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pendleton County, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Looking ahead, Madison Central will look to defend their home field on Monday against Model at 7:30 p.m. Pendleton County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
