Basketball Recap: Y'zana Lee Randle's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clayton over Corinth Holders

Clayton came up into this matchup off a tough 28-point defeat last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Corinth Holders Pirates by a score of 48-46 on Tuesday. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clayton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Y'Zana Lee Randle, who posted 16 points. That was a full 34.8% of Clayton's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Nakhia Rowland, who had nine points.

Jada Vanderhorst continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Corinth Holders, dropping a double-double with ten points and 23 boards. Those 23 rebounds gave Vanderhorst a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Darla Lee, who scored 18 points.

Clayton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Corinth Holders, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-10.

Clayton has already played their next contest, a 77-43 loss against Willow Spring on the 12th. Corinth Holders has also already played their next matchup (against Garner), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
