Football Game Preview: Rockhurst Hawklets vs. Blue Springs Wildcats

The Rockhurst Hawklets will square off against the Blue Springs Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Rockhurst's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Rockhurst is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Bishop Miege, who was ranked ninth in their home state at the time (Rockhurst was ranked fifth). The Hawklets simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Stags 35-0. The result was nothing new for the Hawklets, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rockhurst to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cash Lewandowski, who rushed for 58 yards and one TD, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. Lewandowski also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making four total tackles (3.0 for loss). Henry Coppinger made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Meanwhile, Blue Springs came up short against Lee's Summit North on Friday and fell 41-28. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Broncos: they've now lost six in a row.

Blue Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Rockhurst, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
