While Hughes didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Holy Trinity Titans by a score of 61-50 on Sunday. The victory was familiar territory for the BIG RED who have now won four contests in a row.

Hughes' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was LeShawn Hill, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds. Hill is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Lumpkin, who put up ten points and six rebounds.

Hughes smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Hughes' victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Holy Trinity, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Hughes didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-71 win against Wagner on the 30th. As for Holy Trinity, they will face off against Mount Vernon at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Mount Vernon will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Holy Trinity surely won't give up without a fight.
