North County Christian came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-56 win over the McCluer South-Berkeley Bulldogs.

Loss or not, McCluer South-Berkeley got some senior leadership from Mustafa Taylor and Dylan Merkle. Taylor went 11 of 16 en route to 24 points and eight rebounds, while Merkle dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Kameron Stowers, who posted five points and six boards.

North County Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for McCluer South-Berkeley, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
