Football Game Preview: LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers vs. O'Fallon Panthers

The LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers will take on the O'Fallon Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

LaSalle-Peru made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Kaneland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Cavaliers fell just short of the Knights by a score of 23-21 on Friday. The Cavaliers haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, LaSalle-Peru saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Marion Persich rushed for 153 yards and two scores, and also threw for 109 yards on 15 of 27 attempts.

Meanwhile, O'Fallon played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by East St. Louis and fell 48-6. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-0.

O'Fallon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for LaSalle-Peru, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
