Football Recap: Louie Collins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Glenbrook over Jonesboro-Hodge + How To Watch

Glenbrook extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-5. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost an 18-14 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers. The Apaches were up 14-0 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Several Apaches players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Louie Collins, who threw for 196 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. Carson Powell was another key pass catcher, picking up 89 receiving yards and one TD.

Even if they lost, Glenbrook's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Channing Rainey refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.

As for Jonesboro-Hodge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3. The victory almost wasn't to be: they were down 14-0 in the second quarter.

Jonesboro-Hodge's receiving core played a big role in the win, headlined by JaQuan Qualls and Lontre'Vious Burns. Qualls picked up 124 receiving yards and one score while Burns picked up 32 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Glenbrook has already played their next game, a 47-0 defeat against Haynesville on the 7th. As for Jonesboro-Hodge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 30-0 win against Cedar Creek on the 7th.
