Basketball Recap: Elwood Beats Blackford for Their Third Straight Win

Elwood extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Breelyn Norris. The Elwood Panthers walked away with a 42-30 victory over the Blackford Bruins on Friday thanks in part to Norris, who posted 27 points and three steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Elwood's points.

Another player making a difference was Kendra Sallee, who had six points in addition to 11 boards and three steals. Sallee is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

Elwood's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Blackford, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

After both having extra time off, Elwood and Muncie Burris will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 14, 2025. Elwood is facing Muncie Burris at the right time seeing as Muncie Burris is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Blackford, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-29 defeat against Hamilton Heights on the 21st.
