Baseball Recap: Mater Academy Charter Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Mater Academy Charter's offense. They fell just short of the John Carroll Catholic Rams by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.

Alfrin Rosario was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

Mater Academy Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for John Carroll Catholic, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Southridge will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for John Carroll Catholic, they will be playing at home against Treasure Coast at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Treasure Coast's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so John Carroll Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
