Basketball Recap: Carroll County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Casey County last Saturday, Carroll County came back down to earth. The Carroll County Panthers took a blow against the Marion County Knights on Sunday, falling 81-42. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Knights are ranked 74th).

Carroll County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Marion County, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carroll County will finish 2024 at home by hosting Shawe Memorial at 6:40 p.m. on Friday. Marion County and Middlesboro will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
