Softball Recap: Coppell Wins Going Away Against Bellaire

Coppell's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Bellaire Cardinals with a sharp 7-0 victory.

Lily Bowen made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Bowen was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Courtney Hargrove, who went a perfect4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Kimber Kerrigan was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

The win got Coppell back to even at 2-2. As for Bellaire, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coppell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-3 victory against Round Rock Westwood on the 15th. As for Bellaire, they are taking a road trip to take on Fort Bend Clements at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
