Preview: Franklin Sabers vs. Racine Park Panthers
The Franklin Sabers will head out on the road to square off against the Racine Park Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Franklin's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 77-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Racine Case.
Meanwhile, Racine Park was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 68-64 to Indian Trail. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Racine Park came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Indian Trail is ranked 213th).
Franklin now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Racine Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.
Franklin couldn't quite finish off Racine Park in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 and fell 71-69. Can Franklin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
