Basketball Game Preview: Mill Creek Hawks vs. Dacula Falcons

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Mill Creek Hawks duke it out with the Dacula Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday... Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Mill Creek is headed into Tuesday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-55 heartbreaker at the hands of Central Gwinnett.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dacula). They claimed a resounding 67-22 victory over Mountain View. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-13.

Mill Creek better keep an eye on Jaliyah Benefield. She was instrumental in Dacula's win, shooting 4-for-6 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds gave Benefield a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Bryant, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Dacula's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9. As for Mill Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.

Mill Creek strolled past Dacula in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 46-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mill Creek since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
