Basketball Recap: James F. Byrnes Extends Winning Streak to Four

James F. Byrnes put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past the Eastside Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 76-57. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Eagles are ranked 122nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

James F. Byrnes got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sukhi Singh out in front who went 6 of 8 en route to 17 points and three steals. Those three steals gave Singh a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Enos, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 16 points.

When it comes to explaining why Eastside lost, don't look at Thomas Rouse. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 12 on his way to 20 points. Rouse is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Carter Driscoll, who posted 12 points.

James F. Byrnes pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points per game. As for Eastside, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

James F. Byrnes didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-59 win against Greer on the 11th. As for Eastside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-52 loss against Greenville on the 12th.
