Basketball Recap: Ambridge Takes a Loss

Ambridge played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 71-39 loss at the hands of the Quaker Valley Quakers. The Bridgers have struggled against the Quakers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Quaker Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dominic Cox-Giles, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Cox-Giles has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more boards the last 13 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nic Cohen, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points and five assists.

Ambridge's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Quaker Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-4.

Ambridge will be playing at home against Beaver at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Quaker Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lincoln Park Performing Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Quaker Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Lincoln Park Performing Arts likes a good challenge.
