Baseball Game Preview: Dover Pirates vs. Bigelow Panthers

The Dover Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the Bigelow Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Dover is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

On Friday, Dover beat Atkins 5-2.

Meanwhile, Bigelow scored first but ultimately less than Quitman in their contest on Friday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 5-3. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bigelow saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Platt, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Logan Howell also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Bigelow's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Dover, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Dover took their victory against Bigelow when the teams last played back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 14-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
