Volleyball Recap: Bishop Fenwick Comes Up Short at Home Against Walnut Hills

Bishop Fenwick unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Walnut Hills Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-20 in the first set.

While Bishop Fenwick ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least ten points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-18, 25-22, 24-26, 15-10.

Benjamin Smith was a one-man wrecking crew for Walnut Hills as he had 29 assists and eight digs. That's the most digs Smith has posted since back in April of 2024.

Looking ahead, Bishop Fenwick will host Archbishop Moeller at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Bishop Fenwick has played (dating back to last season) have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Walnut Hills, they will head out to take on Lebanon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Walnut Hills' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
