Recap: John Glenn Little Muskies vs. West Muskingum Tornadoes
After losing to the West Muskingum Tornadoes the last time they met, the John Glenn Little Muskies decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. John Glenn walked away with a 58-45 victory over West Muskingum on Tuesday. Given John Glenn's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while West Muskingum is ranked 582nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
John Glenn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Stehl Bates led the charge by scoring 11 points along with four steals. Bates continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Cooper Briggs was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
John Glenn's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for West Muskingum, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-9.
John Glenn will take on Crooksville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Muskingum, they will head out on the road to challenge Maysville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Maysville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
