Volleyball Recap: Holy Names Academy Takes a Loss

Holy Names Academy was the 3-2 winner over Eastside Catholic when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. Holy Names Academy fell just short of Eastside Catholic by a score of 3-2 on Monday. Holy Names Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Holy Names Academy took Eastside Catholic into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 14-25, 21-25, 25-18, 15-8.

Eastside Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Velvet Jia, who had 12 digs. Jia is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Holy Names Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Eastside Catholic, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-5.

Holy Names Academy has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Lakeside on the 8th. As for Eastside Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Roosevelt on the 8th.
