Basketball Recap: Palmer Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Palmer had won three straight road games and Jalean Tweedy did his part to make it four on Friday. The Palmer Dragons were the clear victor by an 89-67 margin over the Bruce Trojans thanks in part to Tweedy, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. His evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Cornelius Emerson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times he's played.

Despite the loss, Bruce still got an impressive performance from Kobe Hooper, who went 8 of 15 en route to 20 points and seven steals. Those seven steals gave Hooper a new career-high. Sutton Gore also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Palmer is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Bruce, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmer will host Rosa Fort at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bruce, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Water Valley at 7:30 p.m.
