Basketball Recap: Waitsburg Takes a Loss

After soaring to 58 points the game before, Waitsburg was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They were outmatched by the Pomeroy Pirates and fell 55-13. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-5.

Pomeroy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braxton McKeirnan led the charge by putting up nine points and five rebounds. Kyzer Herres was another key player, posting six points along with five boards and four steals.

Waitsburg is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Pomeroy, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Waitsburg will head out to face off against Garfield-Palouse at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pomeroy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse at 7:30 p.m.
