Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Taylorsville). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Leake County Gators a 16-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Tartars' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three matchups.
Noah Westbrook was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Taylorsville is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-8 otherwise. Westbrook was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February.
