Softball Game Preview: Gresham Gophers vs. Forest Grove Vikings

The Gresham Gophers will take on the Forest Grove Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Gresham has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight losses, while Forest Grove will come in with three straight wins.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Gresham nor Gladstone made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Gophers took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gladiators.

Forest Grove came out on top against Sandy on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Vikings walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Pioneers.

Kenley Wright was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Cali Davis was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Forest Grove hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matchups.

Forest Grove's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Gresham, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Gresham came out on top in a nail-biter against Forest Grove in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Gophers repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
