Volleyball Recap: Ashley's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was a good run, but Ashley unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Hoggard Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-21, 25-13.

Addyson Barberich paced Ashley's offense, picking up eight kills. Barberich got some help from Sarah Brannin and her 16 assists.

Hoggard can attribute much of their success to Lydia Maughan, who had eight digs and three assists.

Ashley's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Hoggard, they pushed their record up to 22-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Coming up, Ashley will square off against North Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hoggard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
