Baseball Recap: Cypress Park Takes a Loss

Cypress Park was the 6-1 winner over Cypress Lakes when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Cypress Park Tigers took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cypress Lakes Spartans on Wednesday.

Cypress Park saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Sandoval, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that Sandoval snagged this season.

Even though they lost, Cypress Park hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive games.

Cypress Park's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Cypress Lakes, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-8.

Coming up, Cypress Park will welcome Cypress Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cypress Lakes, they will venture away from home to square off against Waller at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
