Baseball Recap: Foxcroft Academy Snaps 11-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Foxcroft Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Mattanawcook on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lynx by a score of 4-2. The Ponies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lynx apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Hayden Strout made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Foxcroft Academy's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for Mattanawcook, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Foxcroft Academy will take on Piscataquis at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mattanawcook, they will venture away from home to take on Dexter at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
