Basketball Preview: Ridge Community Bolts vs. George Jenkins Eagles
Ridge Community has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the George Jenkins Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Ridge Community pushed their score all the way to 67 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 79-67 to Auburndale. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (58), Ridge Community still had to take the loss.
Ridge Community's defeat came about despite a quality game from Eddy Hyppolite jr., who scored 21 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Hyppolite jr. has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Tarique Kennedy was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, George Jenkins was the victim of a tough 62-41 loss at the hands of the Blue Darters on Friday. While losing is never fun, George Jenkins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 534th, while the Blue Darters are ranked 99th).
Ridge Community has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for George Jenkins, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-19.
