Baseball Recap: Whitney Comes Up Short

Whitney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Granite Bay Grizzlies. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Brady Estes was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Hudson Osterhout was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Whitney's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Granite Bay, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Whitney beat the Grizzlies by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday.
