Baseball Game Preview: Parkland Mustangs vs. Glenn Bobcats

Parkland is 0-7-1 against Glenn since April of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Parkland has given up an average of 16.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Parkland is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game on Wednesday. They lost 21-4 to Calvary Day School.

Dustin Long made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1. Orion Jones was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glenn). They put the hurt on Parkland with a sharp 19-1 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won seven in a row.

Tyler Goodin spent all four innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Glenn got a massive performance out of Isaiah Turley, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave Turley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Anderson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Glenn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Parkland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Glenn, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.

Parkland suffered a grim 19-1 defeat to Glenn in their previous meeting on Tuesday. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
