Baseball Recap: Blake Comes Up Short

Blake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to the Sumner Stingrays. If the Yellow Jackets were looking for revenge after losing 13-3 to the Stingrays when the teams met back in February of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Zechariah Ayers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since March 1st.

Blake's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Sumner, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blake will head out to challenge Sickles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sickles will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Blake surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sumner, they will head out on the road to take on Lennard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
