Despite the loss, Merkel still got an impressive performance from Rayson Houston, who rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also picked up 51 receiving yards. The dominant performance gave Houston a new career-high in rushing yards.
Cisco's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Merkel, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.
Cisco will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Stamford at 7:00 p.m. on October 11th. Stamford is on a three-game streak of home wins, Cisco a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
