Basketball Recap: Huss Takes Down Ashbrook in a Playoff Battle

Huss had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Ashbrook Greenwave 51-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Huskies have posted since February 6, 2024.

Huss found their leader in freshman Jaleel Smith, who went 10-for-18 on his way to 25 points and five boards. Smith's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Zamarius 'Z-Man' Gladden, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds.

Huss has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. Ashbrook's defeat ended a 20-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 26-4.

As of now, neither Huss nor Ashbrook have any future games scheduled.
