Soccer Game Preview: Somerset Academy vs. Franklin Academy

Franklin Academy is hoping to do what Everglades couldn't on Thursday: put an end to Somerset Academy's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Somerset Academy's defense stepped up to hand Everglades an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won nine games by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Everglades with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ella Provost-Heron (3), Adrianne Chow-Quan (3), Alba Cristobal, and Angelie Carrasco.

Meanwhile, Franklin Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Hollywood Hills back in December of 2024 and fell 5-4. Even if the Panthers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Somerset Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 48 goals over those seven matchups. As for Franklin Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
