Softball Recap: Desert Hot Springs Comes Up Short

Desert Hot Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Banning Broncos, falling 8-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Broncos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-4 last Monday.

Desert Hot Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Banning, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Hot Springs will venture away from home to square off against Desert Mirage at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Desert Mirage has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19 runs per game on average), something Desert Hot Springs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Banning, they will head out on the road to challenge Cathedral City at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Cathedral City has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.8 runs per game on average), something Banning will no doubt try to take advantage of.
