Soccer Recap: Gulf Coast Comes Up Short

Gulf Coast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Estero Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 304th, while the Wildcats are ranked 116th).

Gulf Coast's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12-1. As for Estero, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gulf Coast will take on Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Riverdale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season. As for Estero, they will challenge Lely at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lely also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 2.5 goals per game.
