Maroa-Forsyth had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.2 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 78-22 win over the Sangamon Valley/Tri-City Storm. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Storm are ranked 658th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Maroa-Forsyth's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Sangamon Valley/Tri-City, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Maroa-Forsyth will square off against PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Maroa-Forsyth knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central likes a good challenge. As for Sangamon Valley/Tri-City, they will head out on the road to square off against Edinburg/South Fork at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th.
