Basketball Game Preview: Thomas MacLaren School Highlanders vs. Crowley County Chargers

The Thomas MacLaren School Highlanders will face off against the Crowley County Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Thomas MacLaren School has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Thomas MacLaren School took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 59-51 victory over Miami-Yoder. The win continues a trend for the Highlanders in their matchups with the Buffaloes: they've now won three in a row.

Jake Frisbie continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelo Tiggett, who scored 11 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Crowley County entered their tilt with Calhan on Saturday with five consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 77-41. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory got Thomas MacLaren School back to even at 10-10. As for Crowley County, their win was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
