Recap: Pine River Area Bucks vs. Lake City Trojans
The Pine River Area Bucks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Lake City as Pine River Area made off with a 70-50 win. Pine River Area might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 20 points or more this season.
Leading Pine River Area to victory were Mason Gugle and Trevor Holmquist. Gugle scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, while Holmquist scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Jason Dean, who scored ten points.
Pine River Area pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Lake City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Pine River Area will be home for the holidays to greet Mancelona at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mancelona will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Pine River Area is ranked 89th). As for Lake City, they will head out on the road to face off against Beaverton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaverton's defense has only allowed 27.6 points per game this season, so Lake City's offense will have their work cut out for Lake City.
