Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Provo's Third in Last Four Outings

Timpanogos came into Friday's match looking for another win against Provo, but Makai Allen wouldn't allow it. The Provo Bulldogs walked away with a 67-59 victory over the Timpanogos Timberwolves on Friday thanks in part to Allen, who went 7 of 12 en route to 19 points and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played.

Timpanogos lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jack Johnson, who posted 12 points and eight rebounds. Gavin Messmer was another key player, going 7 for 14 on his way to 16 points and five assists.

Provo is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Timpanogos, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 14-5.

Provo will challenge Payson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Provo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.8 points per game this season. As for Timpanogos, they will take on Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timpanogos knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Mountain View likes a good challenge.
