Hopewell-Loudon and Elmwood squared off in some playoff action  on Wednesday, but Hopewell-Loudon had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Royals by a score of  5-4. The Chieftains' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
 Kellen Frankart spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks.
 At the plate,  Jack Colatruglio made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double. He is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last five games he's  played.  Braylon Martinez was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI.
Hopewell-Loudon's defeat dropped their record down to 23-7. As for Elmwood, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record  this season.
As of now, neither Hopewell-Loudon nor Elmwood have any future games scheduled.
