Volleyball Recap: Carson Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Philip Simmons

Carson is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Philip Simmons. The Cougars fell 2-0 to the Iron Horses. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carson was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16.

Katy Falkowski paced Carson's offense, picking up six kills. Falkowski got some help from Rylee Hedrick and her 16 assists.

Carson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Philip Simmons, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Carson has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Mount Pleasant on the 18th. As for Philip Simmons, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Aiken on the 26th.
