In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Lucas sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-21, 20-25, 25-23, 24-26, 15-13.
Meanwhile, Danville was able to grind out a solid victory over Mt. Gilead on Thursday, taking the game 3-1.
After all that action, the final score was 25-13, 25-8, 21-25, 25-22.
Danville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brookelynn Carter led the charge by getting five aces and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Carter a new career-high in aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayley Sheldon, who had nine digs and two aces.
Lucas now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Danville, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
