Basketball Game Preview: Union Grove Broncos vs. Greenfield Hustlin' Hawks

The Union Grove Broncos are taking a road trip to square off against the Greenfield Hustlin' Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Union Grove came up short against Westosha Central and fell 66-58. The loss continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Greenfield had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.4 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They walked away with a 73-66 victory over the Greyhounds. Given the Hustlin' Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 326th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greenfield's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 90.0 points per game. As for Union Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Union Grove came up short against Greenfield when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 77-64. Can Union Grove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
