Football Recap: James F. Byrnes Wins Going Away Against Riverside + How To Watch

James F. Byrnes won the last time they faced Riverside and things went their way on Friday too. The Rebels were the clear victors by a 42-21 margin over the Warriors. With the Rebels ahead 35-1 at the half, the game was all but over already.

It was another big night for Tre Segarra, who rushed for 169 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Those 169 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Caine Rogers was another key player, throwing for 148 yards and four TDs while completing 84.6% of his passes.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to James F. Byrnes' defense and their six sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Kelshard Harris: he picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles.

When it comes to explaining why Riverside lost, don't look at Gideon Merhib. Despite the final result, he rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 139 yards and a pair of TDs.
